Political: Can we all just come together to help the people in the North East...

People are hurting lets send what help we can send. Put everything else aside and jut help...
by trishy1010 November 2, 2012 12:23 PM

No. Those same NE liberal elitists that dismiss my God and think my Charity is nothing but a tax write-off deserve nothing from me.

You have any clue what it costs to live in that area of NJ and NY? no? Those folks have plenty of money and little of brains... gtfo means gtfo.

Have feet, will travel.

Booth, we typically agree on most politics. However, there are poor every where. I am saying we need to send help to feed and cloth the people who have lost everything. That is not a democrat issue or a republican issues. It is an American issue.

I don't know if you have ever been in a hurricane but I was in IKE. I had damaged to my home, luckily it was minor in comparison to most. That being said it took almost 9 months to get payment from the Ins. company. It is a long a miserable road to travel. I just think a little compassion could go a long way. Just my opinion.
by trishy1010 November 2, 2012 12:37 PM

I'm beginning to think there needs to be a pretty low threshold for "expenses" in order to keep a tax exempt status. Maybe 25% or so..
by BuySide November 2, 2012 12:41 PM

When you take generators for an event that should be cancelled when 4 million people are without power four days after the storm, some leader in the community has their head up their ass.

How about we make this like politics? If the people in the Northeast vote for Romney, I will send money.

Isn't that what Obama did with Bloomberg the other day? You want money for New York Bloomberg? Tell the world that you endorse me for President and I will pay 100% for everything.

When push comes to shove, Christie is kissing ass too.

It is all about community. There are millions of people living there that can solve their own problems if they would shut things down until everyone in their community is taken care of.

Instead, they have their hands out like the people in New Orleans waiting for money from others.

A few years back South Dakota had a bad winter storm and power lines were down everywhere. Farmers without power for weeks in sub zero weather. Guess how the problem was solved?

by the voice of reason November 2, 2012 12:48 PM

Those idiots had plenty of time to prepare for this hurricane (4-5 days). It's always the irresponsible people that cause the problems for everyone else.

Have an emergency plan.

Buy insurance.

THINK AHEAD!

by Nobody Knows More Than Me November 2, 2012 12:57 PM

by the voice of reason November 2, 2012 12:48 PM

Right. you're part of the community, so go tell your boss you're taking the next year off to help out. Tell him you don't need any money until you have determined that "everyone is taken care of."

"Isn't that what Obama did with Bloomberg the other day? You want money for New York Bloomberg? Tell the world that you endorse me for President and I will pay 100% for everything."

Hey now that you have been informed that Bush ordered 100% relief for Katrina, does that change your opinion?

by the voice of reason November 2, 2012 12:48 PM

Oh, let me guess. Could it be massive Federal aid plus dozens of states sending utility crews to help restore power?

Douchebag.

by The Truth November 2, 2012 1:00 PM

Some people live pay check to pay check. Insurance does not happen that quickly. People need food, clothes and water. That is essential. It takes FEMA at least a week to really get help in there. I am just saying if you can help...help.
by trishy1010 November 2, 2012 1:00 PM

Rich white people can help themselves......
by you started it November 2, 2012 1:03 PM

I'm sure the voting booths will all be fixed by next Tuesday??

Wednesday the food and clothing will start to arrive.

by Steven701 November 2, 2012 1:08 PM

Truth

I don't live in New York. If I did I would tell my employer I'm taking the week off to help out in the neighborhood. I would also ask the boss for donations or to work with me in getting my neighborhood back to normal.

The people of South Dakota came to each other's aid. Neighbors helping neighbors.
It's that simple.

by the voice of reason November 2, 2012 1:11 PM

TVOR, we had the same thing in TExas. The communities came together and we really got it done. However, I know we had help from people outside of the state. I am just saying if you can help...then help. As American's the good in us should come out in times of need. Just my opinion.
by trishy1010 November 2, 2012 1:20 PM

I help locally with various organizations.

For New York to f' up this disaster relief is unforgivable. That place has more money and resources at its finger tips then any pleac in the WORLD. Just shows you that the place is run my morons.

New York needed an enenma. Those streets have never been so clean.

Would it be that hard to strap a generator under a military helicopter and fly it to a gas station without power?

I don't know maybe it is, but I would think we have people smart enough in the military to get a gas station that doesn't have electricity pumping gas.

I could take my elecrtic water pump, run it off small portable generator, drop a hose down a gas stations holding tank and pump a couple hundred gallons of gas per hour. My gas powered pump would pump a couple thousand gallans per hour into a tanker. Maybe that's not possible, I don't know, but somebody sure as hell does. Get those people some gas!!!!

by YATI November 2, 2012 2:41 PM

I agree with Turdly and MTB and Booth. And Dr. Branker.

I will not be giving any money to this relief, this is their problem and people have to be responsible for themselves. The state needs to be helping them, not OBAMA and his thug adminstration.

when something happens I don't call people and expect handouts. Proud republicans don't expect handouts like all those loser libs in NY.

Commies. let the rich NY actors help them. This is America and we pull ourselves up, we don't give handouts.

by Anncoultersjunk November 2, 2012 2:46 PM

And those deserving folks whatever no gas or car
Everyone seems to be equal now...Rich and poor.
If I haves pump, and I have one hundred dollars a gallon to buy gas, and I have a way out of town, do I deserve the fuel above another.

To those of you who advocate wealth distribution, here it is inaction.
All are equal in the gas line.

Turd...you really live up to your name.

I fought the insurance company tooth and nail because they tried to not pay what they owed....I fought and won you dumb piece of turd.

I give because in my heart I know there are people less fortunate than myself. I don't feel superior I feel grateful and a sense of responsibility.

Now go hide under the dirty rock you came out of.
by trishy1010 November 2, 2012 3:52 PM

Your fighting and winning was not an issue.
You alluded, or I construed, that youdidnot get reparations/repairs for many months.

If you did have reserves, and did not equally distribute themtoyourneighbors that did not have reserves...then you negate your self believed role of benefactor

I standby my paycheck to paycheck statement.

I stand by my statement that giving should not make you feel good.
It should humble you.

tell us turd, what do you know of being humble? you convey no such manner. lip service at best i'm sure.
by dark pool November 2, 2012 4:09 PM

You are so freaking stupid Turd.

My neighbors came together we all cooked together using whatever means we had. We looked out for one another. Those with generators helped those without. It was a community effort.

You simply like to point out every negative you can find. I would hate to live in the pathetic darkness you call home.
by trishy1010 November 2, 2012 4:16 PM

Trishy, you sound like a community organizer.

You goin soft on us? Did you take any FEMA assistance?

And don't lie.

by Anncoultersjunk November 2, 2012 4:34 PM

feds can lend equipment after all else is exhausted.

See how dialog works.
We are in complete agreement.
Neighbors help neighbors, insurance picks up the balance, fema provides equipment.

That's what you said should happen...and did.

That's what I am saying should happen.

She won't answer cause she did.

by Anncoultersjunk November 2, 2012 4:52 PM

Annie,

If you don't take advantage of what is offered and out there, you are a fool.

The Red Cross once offered me a mop, bucket, some bleach, and a nice sandwich lunch while I was cleaning up a family friends basement that was flooded. I said "Thank you".

If some government agency offered me money to repair my home that I could afford on my own, you're damn right I would take it.

by YATI November 2, 2012 4:53 PM

I took candy from the city during their Halloween event.
My $150 worth went waaaayyyy fast. City gave me probably $200 more to hand out.

Yati is correct. All resources that help Your family needs considered.
Having no insurance and expecting the same considerations given to others, when you are an obvious lesser, is not the same thing.

I attack only the argument. Had you presented in a sensical manner I would have had to interject

Why is NY turning away private relief agencies and non union support? Making this political by only accepting assistance from union organizations is pathetic. I suspect this will set the liberal cause back 20 years. Not very bright.

by Dr. Branker November 3, 2012 2:34 PM

Turdly, c'mon bro... let someone else have a turn on the high horse.

You said: "I have a very effective and undeniable way of making people negate their own lame argument and admit it could be presented in a more cogent fashion.

I attack only the argument. Had you presented in a sensical manner I would have had to interject."

Read that carefully again. Within the space of 3 sentences you had negated and contradicted your own argument.

Since you have appointed yourself the indispensable argument police on the vine, now you should come on here again and "negate your "own" lame argument and admit it could have been presented in a more cogent fashion."

Even you make errors and incogent arguments bud.

Ease down....... ease down.
