OT: Deadliest Warrior: SEAL vs MOSSAD tonight!!
For any of the military leaning guys out there, this is supposed to be the penultimate matchup...Navy Seal versus Israeli Mossad.
Being former Navy and all, I gotta cheer the home team, but dude...Mossad guys are frickin SCARY. They're about the only guys in the world I could see hanging with Navy Seals...you KNOW you're badass when you invent your own style of martial arts.
Should be entertaining...10pm eastern time on Spike!!
/not an endorsement of Spike-TV : )

TGK, I gotta go with Mossad, then again
I'm partial as I've been into Haganah for
about the last year and a half.
Which ever way, it's an awesome matchup.

Jew boys can fight? When did that happen?
by vine stone thrower July 27, 2010 7:58 PM
Long before white people were North America.

Israeli's know how to fight, even the women can kick the ass of most men in the US, everyone has to serve in the Military and their training is awesome!

Hey, when you're outnumbered like 10-1 and surrounded by Iranian terr-um, excuse me...when you're surrounded by 'disagreeable freedom fighters' there's gotta be a deterrent.
And knowing that each and every one of the inhabitants of Israel have at one point been trained in Krav Maga and are crack shots with firearms is likely a pretty nasty deterrent. Not unlike when Hitler politely stepped around Switzerland in WW2 and said 'excuse me' on his way to ruining every other country in sight...

TGK - Perhaps a little more to the Swiss in WWII

I know they were the latter day badasses, but are they still around? Do the French still maintain the Foreign Legion at that standard?
Because that'd be cool if they did.
Kinda scary with them, I predicted a couple years back that WW3 would officially start right in France...they're a very proud people and they're getting pushed a little more every day that goes by by Algerian thugs crapping all over their culture and way of life. They must burn half the damn country up every year rioting. If anyone besides Germany has the potential to stand up and start throwing haymakers, it's them.
Hell, as a socialist country they elected Sarkozy...that's like New Jersey electing Chris Christie: unheard of (!!!). France could swing back to the right REAL easy.
That and they're due. France produces a world caliber badass every two hundred years or so, they're due to kick out another Napoleon or Jeanne D'Arc any day now...

I wasn't really discounting that so much as I was the fact there obviously had to be a reason Hitler didn't steamroll them like he did everyone else.
When given the choice, he chose to stay the hell outta there. He could've had enormous wealth by plundering them, but even with (arguably) the best trained, best equipped, and best military leadership to be found in the whole world**, he didn't try. Why? The withering cost of occupation.
That's all I was saying.
**footnote: I'm talking early on in the war, though the claim would still have some merit right up till the end of the war. It's damn scary how close we came to not winning...all Hitler had to do was listen to his damn Generals. Thankfully he was a moron along with being a hideously evil prick.

518-482, Navy Seals win.
Wow...that was crazy close.
by TheGoblinKing July 27, 2010 11:19 PM
The French Foreign Legion was in one of the deadliest warriors, but it was an older version of them. From the early 1900s I believe. I forget who they fought now.
Pretty much all through that episode I felt like every weapon was a draw. Not suprising that it was that close.
by InnerChild July 28, 2010 8:38 AM
TGK, yep, I forgot to factor in the long range weapons
I was thinking merely close quarters.
STill solid either way.
by kabb July 28, 2010 8:56 AM
Seal is obviously the winner. He goes home to Heidi Klum tonight, win, lose or draw....
by MichiganTed July 28, 2010 9:01 AM
That episode was a coin flip now that I consider your remark...SEALs are probably a bit better at ranged combat and MOSSAD is probably a bit better at close quarters/urban combat.
Either way, no one in the world could stand up to either of them for 10 seconds.
Hey, there are some seriously hot gals in Israel too.
I'd say 'Draw' on that as well.

Personally, I've always had a thing for Ziva..... :^}
