Political: I just don't have the time
In his first year in office, Barack Obama has visited more foreign countries than any other president. He's touched ground in 16 countries, easily outpacing Bill Clinton (three) and George W. Bush (eleven). It's an itinerary befitting a "citizen of the world."
But there's one stop Obama won't make. He has begged off going to Berlin next week to attend ceremonies commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall. His schedule is reportedly too crowded. John F. Kennedy famously told Berliners, "Ich bin ein Berliner." On the 20th anniversary of the last century's most stirring triumph of freedom, Obama is telling them, "Ich bin beschäftigt" - i.e., I'm busy.

Interesting that:
Obama saw Corzine 5 TIMES during the NJ Governor's race, that meant "nothing" to Democrats
Made it to Copenhagen on a whim to beg for the Olympics in his home town
He made a last ditch effort to see Deeds in Virginia while he was 11 points behind?
He can't seem to get the time to speak to McCrystal either?
Obama is one busy guy
OAK BLUFFS, Mass. - A day after playing golf with the chairman of the UBS banking giant, President Barack Obama hit the links with an assistant White House chef during his Martha's Vineyard vacation.

In perhaps the most exclusive after-work, backyard basketball game ever, the president recruited players from the ranks of the executive branch and Congress to play on the converted tennis court on the White House’s South Lawn.
The group played 10 games over about two hours, with everyone switching teams throughout, said Representative Michael Arcuri, a New York Democrat and one of the participants. Arcuri, 50, was a forward on his high school team.

so if he shows up there do you promise not to bitch about the fact that he is wasting time at some stupid ceremony in Germany when he should be in DC focusing on America?
p.s. It seems like you would be rooting for him to take more time off and get out of the country more.... that way he would have less time make us all communist, socialist, terrorist, facist, burt lundquist, shadows of our once great selves......

Stupid?
And so it was in East Berlin. For the next few days 3.5 million East Germans flooded West Berlin, a city of just over one million. Although they were all Germans it was a bizarre clash of fashions, attitudes and language. In general, East Germans wore clothes that had gone out of fashion ten years earlier in the West. Brown fake leather coats and washed jeans were common. They were far more polite than the boorish West Berliners and their German was grammatically more correct and cluttered with the clumsy euphemisms of East German communism. Multicoloured Trabi cars littered the streets, avenues and pavements of the western half of the city like dodgem cars abandoned after a riotous funfair that had spilled out of its tent.

Maybe reading something tougher than Daily Kos passages will open your views to rest of humanity and it's struggles! 3.5 million East Berliners are free today due to some "stupid" day that both Kennedy and Reagan played significant roles in. I'd be just as angry at Clinton or Bush for being such a jerk as well Borker sir!

Point well taken Donkard. If Obama will agree to eave the country for the next three years, I'll agree not to criticize what he isn't going to ruin the country.

Why would he go to commemorate the fall of communism? He's not for freedom and it shows. The Government under obama now owns 30% of the private sector and climbing. If the pelosicare takeover happens they will own 48% of the private sector income. That's everyone's money forever.

calling your common view-point into question isn't a vote of dissention....
jus, sayin...
by Donktard Borker November 6, 2009 9:46 PM
Maybe you drank to much before hitting submit? What does that last bit of "jus, sayin" have to do with anything that was said? I was asking why you felt that the Wall ceremony was "DUMB" (remember)
so if he shows up there do you promise not to bitch about the fact that he is wasting time at some stupid ceremony in Germany
by Donktard Borker November 6, 2009 6:18 PM
Why do you think the ceremony is dumb?
