Ready to concede the vote but not the issue - how classic.

With 87 percent of the vote counted early Wednesday, the same-sex marriage law was rejected 53 percent to 47 percent, according to the Bangor Daily News Web site.
Supporters of Maine's same-sex marriage law, which voters narrowly repealed, gathered Wednesday to concede the vote but not the issue.

Let me see if I understand.
When Obama beat McCain by a similar margin it was a landslide victory of epic proportions but when it's about a same sex marriage law being rejected it's "narrowly repealed".
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....................

Why is that still being pushed!! It's such distraction issue. Divide and conquer. I'm so ready for a universal civil union and for marriages to be a private religious ceremony. This is something that is doing way more harm than good.

There is a guy out in California that wants to make a bill to "save the sanctity of marriage" by passing a law where people cannot get divorced. He wants to make it to where people that get married can get their marriage annulled but they cannot get a divorce. I think he is trying to prove to people that if you vote to keep same sex marriage illegal to "save the sanctity of marriage you should not be allowed to get a divorce either right?? makes sense. Pretty interesting, he has something on Facebook he is collecting signatures.... I think people that believe that same sex marriages will destroy the sanctity of marriage are lame... I say who cares, do what you will, they are already living their lives together, so what's the difference...Its not effecting anyone else?
