Florida: Is it worth my time to start my broker shop back up?

I have been in the business for 13 years and had to shut down my shop in 2006 after massive losses from hurricane wilma and katrina. We were a national retail mortgage banker.

It would just be me and I would be calling on a very large closed loan data base.

Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

Thats the call name. Its a high school nickname derived from Jamie.

Do you have advice or are you just killing time on this blog?

I think it would be more worth your while to run your deals through me and let me pay you a comission on them... if all you are really gonna do is hit your past clients up for a refi that makes more sence to me...

jus, sayin... if you want to do that let me know (I am licensed in FL)

comission = commission

sence = sense

Yeah, I'd want to work for you.

I think he was saying, is it worth it to pay the overhead to open up a shop?? I have more and more brokers signing up with us as loan officers everyday cause it just isnt worth it to keep the doors open... makes more sense to sign up with someone as an LO and get commission rather than pay over head...

...and i think VST was correcting borkers spelling...
by BOYDSTUN951 November 4, 2009 5:01 PM

Mainly VST was just tossing rocks. That's his job.

Does anyone know who is doing Man homes? Since GMAC cut that off my four remainding lenders stopped doing them.
by lendermen November 4, 2009 7:12 PM

Lendermen...try AFR

yes, that is basically what I was sayin...not offering a job, just a mutual agreement if it interested him...if it doesn't, that's cool too.

(I doubt anyone expects correct spelling with a handle like "borker")
by Donktard Borker November 4, 2009 8:51 PM

No, borker is correct.
