Any LEGAL way to pay referral fee?

I know about all of the illegal ways, but I'm not interested in going down that road.

If you do commercial loans, they are not subject to respa and do not fall under the same restrictions

Probably not. Can you explain a bit more?

Doesn't the law define an illegal referral fee as payment of a "thing of value"?

From what I hear Happy's Tacos are extremely valuable.

Depends on what state you're in. In California referral fees are a major source of income for Loan Officers and Realtors.

I give out a whole ream/bushel of tacos for any referrals over $45,000.

You just can't find any good puffy tacos in California.

Just pay 'em in cash and don't tell anyone.

lead fees. I pay fees on every closed lead I buy based on amount. Lead seller mandates it.
