Are you referring to the congressmen, because then you would be correct. The people in power in Iran are exactly the same as the psychos who have been running this country, and the UK, and just about every other country in the world right now. They do not represent the sentiment of the majority of Iranians.

Iran doesn't want "nuclear arms", they want nuclear energy. Big difference, but either way, it's their right.

Our elected officials are nowhere close to the extremists that control Iran. Persia, Arabia. whatever, it is one big cesspool. What should I study about Iran? All their contributions to the modern world-that would be a blank page.

They say it is their right, and it is not a bad thing that Iran is setting up nuclear power plants, but the moment we want to build nuclear power plants they freak out. They also do not want us to become energy independent, but it is ok for Iran.

Lastly, they slam their fellow Americans for disagreements with the new President, but defend Iranians who burn Obama's picture and flags.

to summerize, adam posted a link to an article that described a protest in Iran attended by idiots and zealots that were making anti-American sentiments. adam went on to call all Persians "the madmen of Arabia".

my point was to try to get him, and you, and a/e to understand that those people in the streets of Iran do NOT speak for the majority. the majority of Iranians are not anti-American. as a matter of fact most Iranians dislike the current Muslim regime, and want political change, but they are struggling to survive, and that makes revolution hard to do.

I'd like to point out that adam, a/e, and you sound way more like the zealots in Iran yelling for the death of obama and america than you realize. when you make comments like telling me to get out, and that i belong in gitmo (which was closed btw), and that the "new CIA" will come and get me, you are the exact equal of the people you're criticizing. do you realize that?

"they" did not bring the US into the conflict. the US has been meddling in the affairs of the middle-east to protect it's oil interests for decades. do you know who put the shah in charge? do you know who helped overthrow him, and install khomeni? do you know who put saddam in power? do you know who put the taliban in power? who helped create the conflict enducing israeli/palistinian boarders in 1967??!?!

The US govt has done a LOT to protect it's own interests at the cost of the people of the middle-east. 9/11 was a result of all that meddling. It was sad, and wrong, but "they" did not bring the US into the conflict because the US govt was already deeply, deeply involved for decades.

I'm sure you're sitting there thinking, "GOOD, we deserve all that oil anyway. I'm glad the US is fighting for us."

I'd like to remind you to take a look at your 401k (if you have one). I want you to take a look at your rate sheet. Take a gander at your bank account, and your ever growing credit card bills. Do you think the people in power in this country (dems or republicans, they're both puppets on different hands of the same master) will look out for YOU and ME!?

Sorry to say, no way. The ruling class, the Oligarchy masterminding these events see no difference between you, and an Iraqi or Persian. They are in it for themselves. Look at what happened to the $700 BILLION dollar bailout. Where did it go? Went from the taxpayer straight into the pockets of the bankers.

None of us ever defended one party over another. The embarrassment comes from knowing that there are STILL so many people here in this country completely ignorant of what the US govt has done to put us where we are now. You're behaving like the idiots screaming "down with America" in Iran - which deeply pains me as an Iranian-American on both fronts.
